BreezeCare Patients Participate in an Australian Tooth Mousse Study

In 2021, BreezeCare patients participated in an Australian qualitative research study exploring how individuals described changes in their oral care routine after introducing GC Tooth Mousse Plus® into daily use.

This page summarises the study in plain English and explains how it relates to CPP-ACP (Recaldent®) as an ingredient category. It is not a product advertisement — it is included to support education and context around oral-care routines.

Important note

This content is general education only and is not individual medical or dental advice. Always read the label and follow directions for use. Products containing CPP-ACP (Recaldent) are derived from milk protein and are not suitable for people with a milk protein allergy.

What was the study about?

The study explored how people described their oral health and daily routine before, during, and after introducing GC Tooth Mousse Plus® into regular use.

Rather than testing outcomes in a laboratory setting, this study focused on participants’ reported experiences and the practical “real-life” factors that influenced routine adoption.

Why this study is different

Many studies in oral health focus on clinical measurements. This research used a qualitative approach, meaning it explored participants’ descriptions in depth — including the barriers that made it hard to start a new routine and the factors that helped them stick with it.

Study design (in plain English)

According to the published paper, researchers interviewed a group of regular users and analysed interview transcripts using a recognised qualitative methodology (grounded theory). This type of study aims to identify themes and patterns in lived experience rather than produce a single numeric outcome.

What participants described

As reported in the published paper, participants described:

  • their oral health situation and history prior to starting a new routine
  • the challenges of adopting a daily habit consistently
  • the practical and psychological factors that influenced adherence
  • how routine consistency related to confidence and long-term motivation

How this connects to CPP-ACP (Recaldent)

GC Tooth Mousse and some chewing gums contain CPP-ACP (marketed under the trademark Recaldent®). CPP-ACP is a milk-derived ingredient used in certain oral-care products and is commonly discussed in preventive dentistry and oral routine education.

Where chewing gum fits for some people

While this study relates to a dental cream format, many people also use sugar-free chewing gum as a simple habit after meals. Some gums contain CPP-ACP (Recaldent) and are chosen as part of everyday routines — particularly when brushing is not immediately practical.
